Seriously, a well-formed Christian, informed by Catholic Social Teaching (whether or not in communion with Rome) should be considering a write-in of Mike Maturen for President and Juan Muñoz for Vice President — the candidates of the American Solidarity Party — particularly in preference to the foes of religious freedom pretending to be Libertarians.
Here is our platform. You can vote for that with a clear conscience, can’t you? Can you say the same of a vote for Trump, Clinton, Johnson and their respective platforms?
Yes, ASP is a new party. No, I’d never heard of Maturen or Muñoz until a few months ago, either. Yes, we’re almost certainly looking to 2020 and beyond.
“The Republican Party is dead to me,” growled Tipsy. “I can never take it seriously again.”
“I held my nose and voted for McCain in ’08. I held my nose and voted for Romney in ’12. And as thanks I get what? Donald Trump?! A conman developer (but I repeat myself) I’ve distrusted from the moment he burst onto the public stage with The Art of the Deal 28 years ago?! A man who has sunk ever lower in self-abasement and the humiliation of others in the ensuing years?! An owner of pro wrestling franchises? An owner of casinos and strip clubs? A serial adulterer?”
“Only now is the GOP figuring out he’s crazy?!”
“Give me a break! A break of the circular logic that nobody votes for third parties because they can’t win because nobody votes for them. Only a vote for same old same old is wasted.”
I just made that up.
“This is beyond narcissism. I used to think Trump was an 11-year-old, an undeveloped schoolyard bully. I was off by about 10 years. His needs are more primitive, an infantile hunger for approval and praise, a craving that can never be satisfied. He lives in a cocoon of solipsism where the world outside himself has value — indeed exists — only insofar as it sustains and inflates him.”

Now wait for Trump to mock wheelchair users.
Fareeh Zakaria seems to have nailed Trump: “Bullshit Artist” (which is different than “chronic liar”).
Sadly, Pat Buchanan doesn’t seem to have figured out that Donald Trump is dangerously unstable due to multiple personality disorders. This is not 1964, Goldwater vs. Johnson.
