To which I would add, “so far.” Rod Dreher’s pithiest insight may be his Law of Merited Impossibility:

It’s a complete absurdity to believe that Christians will suffer a single thing from the expansion of gay rights, and boy, do they deserve what they’re going to get.

It may be even now that what’s keeping us safe from “violent street protests” is mostly the left’s assurance, be it true or false, that we are all armed to the teeth. I don’t get the impression that they are heeding people like Jonathan Rausch.
